Walk in Line / 2022 / Suwon Public Art Project, South Korea

Arrows, lines and marks on the ground started to appear in the early weeks of the coronavirus epidemic in order to keep a safe distance between people in the stores, in front of the schools or in the subway stations. Until now, the sticked or painted signs are still in the city. Walk In Line reproduced a variety of these marks mixed with lines from the suwon military airport, showing us where to stand, where to walk, how to behave… Made of 256 tiles, the original display is hard to recompose but can be reset in many different ways, where “disorder” may be more interesting than the original “order”.
